What personal data we collect and why we collect it Profile Information At this time, the contents of this website are not public. The only persons able to view the information are you, the user, and appointed members of the WPSPC, who will not make your details public. This website’s purpose is to collect information pertinent to participants in the pursuit of sports parachuting, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. The information collected is the same as the existing club membership form. Should you prefer to provide the required information in paper for, please download and complete the WPSPC Membership Form. Comments An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment. Media If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. Who we share your data with We keep your data private and only appointed members of the WPSPC have access to your data. We do however share your data with the Parachute Association of South Africa (PASA), who in turn share selected information to the Aero Club of South Africa and South African Sports Confederation & Olympic Committee (SASCOC) for demographic reporting and statistical purposes. How long we retain your data If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators and appointed members of the WPSPC can also see and edit that information. What rights you have over your data If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. Additional information How we protect your data Your information is stored in a database to which no public access is available unless the access is through the web front end, which is protected by both hardware and software firewalls. What data breach procedures we have in place Any breaches will be investigated by the committee of the WPSPC. As previously mentioned, should you wish to delete all of your data heled on this website, options are available to you once you’ve logged in. If you have forgotten your password you can reset it to access your account or ask an appointed members of the WPSPC to delete your information.
